The weather has been great for working in the dye studio and getting ready for the Tidewater Quilt Guild Show next week. This the best part of my work, planning colors and patterns and seeing them come alive on the cottons linens and silks. Excited to be accepted in An Occasion for the Arts show this fall in Williamsburg. Looking forward to so much creating this summer.
It is getting to be a crazy summer. Being so busy with the extreme heat really wears you down. Some evenings I just have to sit. But I still need to push on to the new designs and business plan. This blog is being updated and I look forward to many new things, for me, coming in the fall.
A few weeks ago we rearranged our bedroom, it is a much better layout. The room is still very basic and one of the main things missing is a headboard. I just need to decide on something-SA can build anything, so I just need to design something. This room board is what I came up with, it is my usual color scheme, but I love all the shapes and texture.
I have thinking of bringing back this regular post on Mondays, and while looking around on line found this “board” site Olioboard. You can put together collections or design/planning boards for all your projects and spaces. I know Pinterest is going crazy right now, but this site is great as well-even more places to use your time. I think I could use this in my design process. What do you think?
This is my studio office board.
It is a new week and back to business. I always seem to have too many projects going on, and many never seem to get finished. (I know you all know what I am talking about). I am still tweeking my studio spaces and have been looking at chairs for the little sitting area. I need a comfortable place to sit and read/look at books and think. Nothing seems to be working that I see at the localstores. I did find the chairs above-by Jardan in Australia, a little to far. It may be something I can we can design and build-but will it be too much to add to the list of Projects?
How many projects do you have lying around to complete?
In prepartaion for the Holidays, I need to clean and rework my spaces, to decorate and for visitors. I think I need to make an inspiration board. With so many things going on, it helps me to have a visal plan.
Off to another busy week, here with deliveries and all. What is going on with you, the season is near?
This is a beautiful mood board.
I have been so busy getting orders done time is flying by. It has me rethinking my studio space layout and storage areas. I need places for finished work as well as cut parts and painting area. As always searching on line I found these great solutions. I always love drawers as oposed to open shevlin(which is what I have now) it makes the space feel too busy, with everything in site. I know some people love to see everything around them but I like to set up displays for inspiration, and have most things put away. It just makes me feel calmer, and not so overwhelmed with ideas.

What do you think, do like everything out and visual, or more controled clutter?
I design, fabric, clothing and accessories, I love color, but I for many years in my home and personal style, I always played it safe. My closet looks very brown. My house was taupe and a little teal. I the past 2 years my life changed in several ways and it has helped me see things differently, always waiting for the perfect can cause you to wait for ever.
So I recently bought an orange soft and beautiful bright floral print chair. My designs have gotten more bold and interesting. I found this company Bokja with the most amazing furniture, piecing many fabrics in many colors to remake some fabulous furniture.
