We had a great time at the MOCA show last weekend in Virginia Beach and thanks so much to Nancy and Brenda at Shooting Star Gallery in Cape Charles for hosting my trunk show this weekend. I have my work available now through the holidays at The Art Center @319 in Smithfield and Pop Shop By Jo Louise in Hilton (Newport News). Please contact me if you need any last minute gift ideas, I have some beautiful silk scarves and the big tote bags.
I will have an exciting new creative space opening in 2017 so looking forward to seeing you all there-(hint) Pigs Will Fly. Make sure you sign up for my newsletter to keep up with all the news and creative ideas.
SA and I had a relaxing weekend on the Eastern Shore in Onancock. We stayed at the lovely Charlotte Hotel and restaurant, and really enjoyed our visit to long time friends Nancy and Brenda and their wonderful new home and studios. Also, had time to stop by the new Shooting Star(who has some of my textile work available), in Cape Charles.
Here are some of the finished pieces from my latest dyeing session.
Silk, linen, and cotton fabrics are displayed.
Look what came in the mail today. New hang tags and postcards.
So Happy that “Sign Girl” won honorable mention at the Found Art show last week in Norfolk. Thanks to Hannah at Alt Daily and Amelia at
TFC recycling for getting it all together a putting on the show.
A great chance to get some handmade gifts this weekend. J and I will be in downtown Norfolk with my shirts, bags and fabrics. This is my last show for the year, some of these items are leaving my inventory. Many other artisans will be there to showcase there work. Hope to see you there.
Soooooo much rain. We are here on the East Coast soaked, and the mood is sad and dreary. The weather pressure is a real problem for we sinus people. I am painting and sorting, at least some work is getting done. Another day of this I think.
I have been in the process of updating my site here, and this has given me some time to look around for ideas and all. I found this great insiration board and blog Olive and Joy, very inspiring. Planning and implementing changes, especially where technoloigy is concerned, takes some time, I really need to finish this. Enjoy and stay relaxed and dry.
I have thinking of bringing back this regular post on Mondays, and while looking around on line found this “board” site Olioboard. You can put together collections or design/planning boards for all your projects and spaces. I know Pinterest is going crazy right now, but this site is great as well-even more places to use your time. I think I could use this in my design process. What do you think?
This is my studio office board.
The students in my design class, did a great job creating the decorations for the Winter Dance. It is tricky making the different parts in a different location and having a short time to put it all together. Thanks to everyone involved in the dance and all the kids, I think they had a great time.
