Quilting and Sewing

I have been planning my class for this fall as well as the final session of the summer workshops. I am going to use some piecing and quilting techniques for the student.  It really helps them focus on cutting straight and even, and sewing seam allowances straight.  From the last few years of teaching this seems to be the most needed skills for students and they are very important in making that are interesting and fit.

I teach in a very open free form way and it has been working well for several years.  It is so exciting to have the teens interested in sewing again (thanks Project Runway), it keeps me on my toes trying to come up with creative unique projects.

Some lovely examples of quilts from Flickr.
