One of my traditions is to make a batch of Irish Cream-this is a recipe I have had for a long time, not sure where it came from and I know there are probably many versions out there on line.  Anyway, several friends have asked for a copy so I am posting it here.  For a last minute gift or treat here is my recipe.  I have added alternate ideas for making it all from scratch.

 

Irish Cream
1 2/3 cups whiskey
1 cup heavy cream
1 can (14 oz) sweet condensed milk or
   (1 can (14 oz) evaporated milk with 1/2 cup sugar dissolved)
2 TB chocolate syrup or
   (1 TB cocoa powder, 1 TB sugar dissolved in 2 TB milk)
1 tsp instant coffee disspolved in 2 TB warm water
1 tsp vanilla

Combine all ingredients in a blender or large bowl and mix well.
Store in glass jars in refrigerator up to 2 months.
Serve over ice or in coffee or any way you like.
