We stayed at the lovely Charlotte Hotel and restaurant, and really enjoyed our visit to long time friends Nancy and Brenda and their wonderful new home and studios. Also, had time to stop by the new Shooting Star(who has some of my textile work available), in Cape Charles.
My new summer classes are now on the schedule. These are offered at my home studio in Smithfield. Please let me know if you have any questions. Look forward to seeing everyone this year. Angelia

A friend ask me last week about hand quilting. She had received a donated, unfinished quilt and needed it for the Art League fund raiser auction. I do some had work, but have never completed a whole quilt. I started looking about on line and found some beautiful examples of hand quilting in modern design form.
The time involved seems daunting to me to do a a large quilt, but I will included some hand stitching and quilting in some of my smaller projects. It is great practice for all sewing skills and I use it in my teaching. This summer in turning out to be full of inspiration and new up coming creative adventures. More ideas coming soon.
This beautiful detail is from Victoria at Silly BooDilly. I have followed her work for a while and really love her color sense, and the hand quilting is equally amazing. She has a beautiful collection of work quilts as well.
This is one of the new design I just finished for a rather large hand printed fabric order. I was interesting to translate a small square piece of collage work into yardage of fabric. It did give me a lot of inspiration for future designs. I am currently doing a lot of “playing” with surface design, and will soon have some 1/2 yards and fat quarters on line for sale.
