Garden Inspiration

It seems like the weather is finally warming and things are all green. It is the perfect time to get collect inspiration for my art and design projects. Some leave stamps and screens for printing are in the works. I have several classes coming up around the Tidewater area, so check out that page for all the locations and dates.

Art and the Winter Garden

winter garden 15

It has been a crazy time with several projects not working out, and just a lot of downs and not many ups this year.  SA has been doing most of the garden work and I really miss being out in the plants and soil, so am making an effort to get outside-even in the winter and work in the garden.  It is so much a part of my creative inspiration.   Only one more design event next weekend, here’s to hoping for a big, positive finish, with my art, before the Holidays.

Healthy Women

My entry in the Bra Ha Ha event to raise money for womens’ breast health.  You can see it and more creative and fun bras made by others from the Smithfield area at the Art Center @ 319.  This creation was inspired by the persistant mother bird in my earlier post. Like in mother nature, we have to adapt, adjust, nurture and persist in helping all women have access to what they need for their health.brahaha

Never Give Up Going to the Birds

Finch-1-2015

I have been inspired the last few weeks, by a little bird.  SA made some new lights for the front porch.   The old ones rusted and everything we saw at the stores were not interesting(this happens to me a lot).  So this little bird  decides to build a nest-this late in summer-inside the light fixture.  We have two lights on the porch, but she had to use the one near our front door.  So not we are dive bombed every time we go out the door, and we cannot turn on the lights.  It is a testament to the dedication, in the beginning we tried to move the nest before it got to big.  But the birds never gave up on using this exact spot.  I guess we should use this lesson, even if things don’t quite work out you can still keep going.  Still trying to figure what type of birds they are, anyone know what they are?Finch-2-2015

Mood Board Monday

Soooooo much rain. We are here on the East Coast soaked, and the mood is sad and dreary.  The weather pressure is a real problem for we sinus people.  I am painting and sorting, at least some work is getting done.  Another day of this I think.

I have been in the process of updating my site here, and this has given me some time to look around for ideas and all.  I found this great insiration board and blogBYW moodboard for Olive & Joy  Olive and Joy, very inspiring.  Planning and implementing changes, especially where technoloigy is concerned, takes some time, I really need to finish this. Enjoy and stay relaxed and dry.
