It is a new week and back to business. I always seem to have too many projects going on, and many never seem to get finished. (I know you all know what I am talking about). I am still tweeking my studio spaces and have been looking at chairs for the little sitting area. I need a comfortable place to sit and read/look at books and think. Nothing seems to be working that I see at the localstores. I did find the chairs above-by Jardan in Australia, a little to far. It may be something I can we can design and build-but will it be too much to add to the list of Projects?
How many projects do you have lying around to complete?
I tend to fall in the trap of over planning, especially that we have a new year and all the experts and calenders, and filing systems come out to tell us how to get everything together for the new year. I have been in the inspiration/planning mode for a while. My design seem to work out best in a more free form way when I actually start to work. So, I just made a mood board and used that for my color/fabric inspiration. Now I am going to let the actual pieces flow from that. More images here.

This past year has been a tough one. I am so looking forward to the New 2012. In planning and reviewing my work I have been a little chaotic in the collections, I guess as part of the mixed up year I have had, but the current group is really coming together.
So, what was your year about? I will see you all for a fresh start.
It seems like scarves are the thing for this season. They have been selling as quick as I can get them out there. I have a few left if anyone needs a great last minute gift, please contact me and I can get it out to you.
It has been so busy with all the last minute shows and sales. I am slowly getting the home decor started. I usually do my holiday decorations over a few weeks as I get inspired. We have family staying with us for an extended visit, so it is taking a little longer for everything.
It is different this year with my studio being in the main area of the house, so that will reflect my display and all as well.
My color palette for this season is a little off the usual Christmas Red and Pine Green. I am also comitted to using/making only things I have on hand. There is so much inspiration out there, I do want it to be bold but simple.

With the shopping season coming fast, I hope everyone will think about shopping a little different and support local and independent business. It is very inportant to help keep these places going, they are you friends and neighbors and Hampton Roads has much to offer. My work as well as many other creative gift ideas can be found at the following places.
