With the surprise of early warm weather I guess it is time to find something to wear. The spring/summer clothing selections are not the best for me. I don’t like to show my weird legs, and really don’t look good in or especially like carpi pants anyway, so the other selections are usually limited. Long dresses and skirts are good, and can be easy to make.
These are great layered looks, I have always been a fan of separates to mix and match, and great color.
So many last minute details to get my class schedule as well as order ready. I like the combination of printing, applique, embroidery on my bags and pillows. One of the classes I am planning is a kind of fabric collage using these elements.
With the weather so nice, it is hard to stay indoors. The garden is calling me, maybe some hand sewing on the porch for now.
I have a new order for pillows and pouches. It is for a great place in Florida called the C.R.O.W. Clinic it is a wildlife rehabilitation facility. So, you know they want the bird art on all the items. Chickadees, Egrets and Owls are calling my name.
I have also started a new quilt project, with dye/printed fabrics. This is leading up to some new classes and workshops coming soon.
How is your week starting out? What projects do you have going on?
I have been spending a lot of time on finding my focus and refining my work. That involves going through the studio and using up or getting rid of materials and promoting new products as well as letting go of past ideas. I have always had so many ideas and projects I want to do, but finding resources for selling or promoting is the hard part. I found this lovely, modern dollhouse that I designed and SA built, I really love it, just needs to find the right home.
The students in my design class, did a great job creating the decorations for the Winter Dance. It is tricky making the different parts in a different location and having a short time to put it all together. Thanks to everyone involved in the dance and all the kids, I think they had a great time.
My friend and fellow teacher Susan is having a give away on the blog, and the gift just happens to be one of my painted silk scarves. So I hope you all stop over a read about all the adventures in home schooling and more. Let me know if you are the lucky winner.
